Synopsis of the 30 year update is here: www.flow.ph/limitstogrowth/world3

This graph shows the number of Earths required to provide the resources used by humanity and to absorb their emissions for each year since 1960. This human demand is compared with the available supply: our one planet Earth. Human demand exceeds nature's supply from the 1980s onward, over‑shooting it by some 20 percent in 1999. (Source: M. Wackernagel et al.)

A quote for those of us who figure that necessity is the mother of invention (i resemble this, fyi)

"In short, society develops technologies and markets that hasten a collapse instead of preventing it."

Any scenario or simulation which doesn't mention World3, or Limits to Growth is likely to be a suboptimal view of reality.

IMHO, if you are not wiring anything you do into this model in some form, you are participating in the problem!

Helpful Hint: Any model of the future or of society which doesn't take into consideration a view of the limits to growth, and it's underlying model World3 is a partial view.
Action Step: Do a quick scan of any paper, model or strategy, and if it concerns the future directly, indirectly or obliquely and you do not find World3, or Limits to Growth in it's language, it's not designed as a sustainable approach.
