Things
will go easier in those places where you find you do have
resilience and "will"....
I'm going
to leave it at "will" right now, instead of free will...
I'll
probably address that later...it's a chapter, eh.<G>
Here's
the context:
There is
an axiom in Blank Slate that represents the idea that EVERYONE
CAN, if...
...they
get the right _______________, and if they can't,
it's
really not their fault; we just didn't get the ______________
right.
Another
way BS looks at this is we are all equal,
and as
blank slates to be written upon by our "environments"
...if we
are not doing whatever it is...
Then it's not because
we can't,
it's
because we don't have the right ___________________.
That a
basic set of tenets of the system.
In FLOS,
I like to think that everybody can't,
and no
amount of __________________ can change that proposition.
But like
BS, in FLOS, everyone can have all they want...so there is an
idea of MORE?
More is
really tricky, but I wanted to posit this early,
so we can
come back to it in another FLOS 101 Topic.
Back to
will.
It's
simple in FLOS.
EVEN if
everybody CAN, (I'll give BS the benefit of the doubt!) ...few
will.
Now, will is
a multi-faceted idea.
For now,
let's stay simple:
I believe
and FLOS is based on the idea, that people are inherently
predisposed
to select
and use particular parts of their ability. It
seems babies are born with a
full
cabinet in most cases and what remains is what gets used, the
rest, probably
through
evolutionary, or creative efficiency, falls away to reveal the
DAVID!
[It is
often said that when asked how he created such a sculpture, he
replied that he
merely
removed all the material that was blocking our view of what
was there.]
That David is
in control, although mostly unconsciously...of selection and
use of the ways.
It's
pretty easy to depict this through Damasio's Ideas on "Feeling
of What Happens!"

The
Key Assumption?
Just
because we can...we usually won't...UNLESS, it's aligned with
what makes us happy.
It
doesn't mean we should learn, or develop skill in areas that
are not weaknesses. It
does mean that when we do...it's likely we won't gain mastery
with them, or use them, just because we have them!
