Reaching Out

 

Reaching Out has emerged as a way to promote resilience.  It involves equilibrium with reaching in.  That is, you can't reach out until you know what to reach out for because the first thing that someone is going to wonder, is what you want, and why.

This is especially true in an age where resources, including information, time, energy, attention, and motivation are called upon in so many directions.

Reaching Out can be formulaic, and it's good to think or feel your way through a well-formed outcome. HOWEVER, just in case that becomes a barrier to the reaching out, hell...just ask for help. 

Helpful Hint: The ego will prevent you from reaching out.  It's usually the only thing.  Ego shapes our behavior as in wanting others to think and feel about us in a certain way.  So this shaping process keeps us from just saying..."May I have your help?"
Action Step: Today, after reading this, think about what you want, or need help with, and just ask someone in some way for support.  Ask someone who could help you, work through it with you, point you to a resource, give you what you need, or even just wish you well. Try it, and see what happens
